A region experiencing a full ecological renaissance

Since 2017, the City of Paris has been going green. The capital is aiming to be carbon neutral and use 100% renewable energy by 2050. Every year, there are more and more green projects throughout the city. A large garden is being created between the Trocadero esplanade and the Eiffel Tower. In addition, at the bottom of the Champs-Élysées, the city of Paris is planning to redevelop the Place de la Concorde by transforming 2.8 hectares of the 8 hectares available into green spaces, while giving priority back to pedestrians.

Finally, the adoption in 2019 of the Paris Action Climat charter will continue to accelerate the ecological transition of the entire Paris region, with new objectives defined in the biodiversity plan adopted in April 2025.
